At "Little Church", we cover the Gospel of the day in a way that children can understand and enjoy. This is enriched with discussion, prayers and activities.
Our aim in "Little Church" and in the Children’s Masses is to make the children's experience of church meaningful, to help them to grow in the faith of the Catholic Church and to develop as full and active members of our parish community.
There is no set age for the children attending "Little Church", however, most participants are aged 3 and up. If you feel your child would enjoy activities aimed at children and with other children for the first half of the mass, then please bring your child to "Little Church", whatever their age. Parents are welcome to attend "Little Church" with their children.
Children and their parents who wish to participate in "Little Church" should come directly into the parish hall at 10.30am. We return to mass to offer up the work the children have done and to share the rest of the mass with other parishioners.
"Little Church" is run by each of the parents of the families in turn – we find this makes the group very inclusive and welcoming, so if you are interested in assisting, please see Father Adrian.
Children’s Mass
At Children’s Masses, held on the first sunday of the month, the children are readers, assist with the offertory and collection, as altar servers and in other ways. These are lovely ways for children to become involved in the life of the Church.
Altar servers
Boys and girls are welcome to join the altar servers following their First Holy Communion. Altar servers make a great contribution to the celebration of Mass so please do volunteer.
